494 8th Avenue
A 268-foot, 23-story Art-Deco office building completed in 1929. Designed by Gronenberg & Leuchtag as an office and manufacturing building.
The south facade is windowless, and primarily used for large hand painted advertisements. A tall chimney is visible at the southeastern corner. The exposed upper portion of the east elevation is clad in reddish-brown brick. The ground floor is occupied by NY Camera & Electronics, a Starbucks coffee, and 8th Avenue Chinese Bakery.
